Petro-Canada (East Coast) awarded Keppel Verolme a contract for the turnaround of the Terra Nova FPSO in 2006. Keppel Verolme’s strategic location, facilities, resource availability, expertise, experience and excellence in project management and safety were key to clinching this challenging project.

The unit arrived at the Keppel Verolme yard early July 2006.
The scope of work included maintenance, inspection and modification of the hull and process topsides systems of the FPSO. The installation of an Additional Living Quarters (ALQ) aft of the existing accommodation increased the POB capacity of the vessel.
Maintenance work involved the survey and overhaul of thrusters, maintenance of underwater valves, coating of the hull, and repair to the vessel and process systems. Inspection and modification works covered the testing of cargo tanks and pressure vessels and modifications in the process modules.
