Enchantment of the Seas

Eigenaar: Royal Caribbean International

Periode: May – June 2005

With the lengthening of Royal Caribbean’s ‘Enchantment of the Seas’ within 41 days, Keppel Verolme made its remarkable entry in the cruise vessel market.

For this project Kvaerner Masa yard (STX Finland) fabricated a new 22.2 metre midbody of the ship in Finland. Keppel Verolme and Kvaerner Masa yard jointly executed the work of cutting the vessel, inserting of the midbody section, as well as the final outfitting, powering up and recommissioning of the ship. Other works carried out by Keppel Verolme were; full repair and maintenance including ultra hydro jetting and painting of the underwater area. In the mean time the owner took the opportunity to refurbish the ships interior during the yard stay.

After the lengthening, the ship measured 301,8 meter overall including an additional 151 passenger cabins. Close cooperation of all parties involved resulted in successful execution of the project.
